Sywell LAA - what was that aircraft ?

Post your airshow images here, military aircraft that attend civilian airshows can be posted as long as the bulk of the photos in the thread are of civilian participants.

Sywell LAA - what was that aircraft ?

Post by LondonEye » Tue Sep 05, 2017 1:59 pm

Saturday was a bright, sunny day for the annual LAA Rally at Sywell, with over 400+ aircraft visitors.
Things have changed over the years - once PFA (Popular Flying Association) now LAA (Light Aircraft Association).
The days of 700 to 800 visitors (maybe 80 foreign) at Cranfield have long gone.
A chance to see the latest homebuilt types.
It does seem dominated nowdays by types such as Vans. I prefer to look for the older, more unusual types.
So, my impression of the day - and just for fun, can you identify the type before reading the caption underneath ?
Have fun.
Pete.

Nice colourful and varied post Pete. I too prefer the older and rarer types although I haven't done a rally since Cranfield 94. Highest total I ever had for one day was the Saturday at Wroughton in 1993 with 1030 logged! Those were the days. If only I could go back with a digital camera :(

very nice Pete, as for your quiz, lets just say I got a few(ish) wrong!

maybe I got 50% but marginal! I'm a bit put of touch with these little ones.
Andygolfer (or at least I was once), now just plane crazy
