Post your airshow images here, military aircraft that attend civilian airshows can be posted as long as the bulk of the photos in the thread are of civilian participants.

Stow Maries fly in 31-7-2016

Post by andygolfer » Mon Aug 01, 2016 9:02 am

I went to the 2nd day of the weekend event at Stow Maries yesterday helping the Air Britain marshallers by doing the booking in. Rather quiet unfortunatelywith only about 15 visitors (there were more on Saturday despite the better forecast yesterday. The small display was enjoyable except that the cloud moved in as it was about to start and cleared soon afterwards. The strong crosswind meant they couldn't fly the Snipe or albatross but safety has to come first, but seeing some Shuttleworth aircraft in the display was good compensation. You may think that the clouds look quite dramatic in some of the ground shots, for many of them (on my 600D / Sigma 18-250 set up)I used a circular polarizer - does it work or do they look too artificial?

here's a selection of my pics....

the Stampes participated in the display but this was taken on their arrival before the cloud came in.

how many men does it take to park a Cherokee? - 2 plus two women to help them. The one in green seemed to be doing the hard work but there's more of a story to this. The one on the wing tip was on her first flight and wasn’t pushing much! Note she has a bag in one hand which was full of puke – an unfortunate touch of airsickness! when they landed she was still the colour of the other lady's tee shirt! . It wasn’t a pukka sickbag so I didn’t ask for it to put in my collection (had it been worthwhile I’d happily have washed it out!).
as they say (and Rod Stewart once sang) - every picture tells a story!

Great set Andy, polarizer works for me certainly brings the background sky and fluffy clouds out a treat
