Clacton air show 27-8-2015

Post by andygolfer » Fri Aug 28, 2015 11:26 am

I made the short journey to Clacton yesterday for the first day of the annual air show, weather was a bit poor until late afternoon but I still enjoyed it. I saw my last ever full Vulcan display which had to be my personal highlight, only Little Gransden on sunday left then sadly that will be that for me.
Sally B's display seemed better at Clacton than the Duxford displays that I'm more used to, a bit more variety and more turns and banks made it very nice. The Typhoon was very noisy and probably woke up a few residents in the local care homes!

many thanks, the light got better towards the end of the display. I'm hoping for good weather for sunday, forecast wasn't very promising this morning but just looked again and it has improved a bit, cloudy but no rain until the evening. I hope they have got that right.

forecast looks better for Monday wherever you go, might be a bit of rain about first thing though. Wind will be moving round to the west so should be on 27s at LHR. not sure which will be the landing runway without checking.

don't think there is much due at STN unless you like cargo flights - China Southern and Qatar 777s during the morning and should be a Martinair MD11 mid morning as well.

Just hope the Gransden weather forecast keeps improving for sunday
