PMs to all registered users asking for a plane ID.

Post by ChrisCwmbran » Mon Oct 23, 2017 9:26 pm

I've just received a PM from a user asking me if I know the ID of aircraft which flew into Newcastle airport at some point.

Given that I live in South Wales I'm quite unlikely to know the answer.

Is this really an acceptable use of the PM system?

Chris - we all got it I think- certainly sent to all members (I've deleted mine as I could not help and it was a mass mailout. Sender is not new but has never posted so may not be familiar with forum use.

I'm sure Mike or Andy will deal with it as they see fit.

Apologies for this, the user's permissions have now been altered by Admin and she won't be doing it again. ;)

yes we are aware - see Mike's post. We are just working our way through the settings to try to prevent multiple PMs being sent but it's not straight forward.

I did PM the person last night and said that a post in the tie up section would have been the correct way to do it, hopefully there will be no repeats aso please everybody refrain from sending PMs asking for tie up, thanks.

Apologies to everybody who logged on expecting an exciting message
Andygolfer (or at least I was once), now just plane crazy

I actually replied to Angelaw with the info she wanted , I think ? , but never received a reply so just in case she is reading this.......

There were a couple of A6- 777's in on Friday morning - one arrived Tuesday
(A6-ALN), the other Wednesday (A6-SIL) - both left Saturday. No Saudi's in.
