the army and USAF both use it for training fairly regularly. I was close by last year doing some bird watching and an Osprey (the V.22 not the sea eagle) flew past us low and went in. We went over to the base and it was doing practice landings and discharging troops then loading up. The Wattisham apaches sometimes use it as well. There's nothing based there though nowadays but there is some sort of army presence there I believe.
I was told that the Il.76 was in for some filming work for a new movie and was there for a couple of days from memory.
