PC for FS9

Post by Stug » Fri Apr 08, 2011 10:59 pm

Hello
I'm now getting well into FS2004 but my laptop struggles a bit once some weather is loaded up (use AS 6.5). So. I'm considering getting a desktop purely for FS. I'm on a tight budget so really don't want to spend more than £300 (ideally with a monitor). I realise this may be ambitious but hoping someone can point me the right way.
I've seen this spec, how would it rate?
# ackard Bell imedia X2424
# Intel Quad Core Q6600 (2.4 GHz)
# 2048 MB DDR2 RAM (2 GB)
# 1TB (1000 GB) SATA2 HDD (7200 RPM)
# Nividia GeForce 7050 onboard Video (PCI-Express x16 slot available)
# DVDR-w Drive
Obviously I would need a graphics card, NVIDA seems to be the favoured type.

Finally this is s/h on ebay.
INTEL CORE 2 QUAD 6600 @2.4GHZ
TEAM DDRII 800MGZ RAM-2X 1GB
SAMSUNG 500BG HARD DRIVE
DVD RW DRIVE
DVD RW DRIVE WITH 'LIGHTSCRIBE'
3.5" FLOPPY DRIVE
FOXCONN 9657AA MOTHERBOARD
NVIDIA GEFORCE 8500GT VIDEO CARD
CREATIVE SOUNDBLASTER X-FI XTREME AUDIO CARD

Thanks for your time. I really get lost when it comes to PC these days!
