Civilian Aviation

Hi all, movements info posted up on the SWAG re. the bi-annual French airlift next weekend. The match is on a Friday night and as such most movements are Friday day, with most departures Saturday day.

Of note is the Air France 777, arriving 1430 on Thursday 20th, departing at 1555 the same day, returning on Saturday at 0935 and departing 1100, with the team and associated media.

Also interesting is the presence of a few Volotea 717 flights, a Corsair A330 on Friday and Saturday, and one which I've been unable to identify as yet; CMV120. Any help on that would be appreciated.

CMV is Calima Aviación, possibly B734 EC-LTC?

Thanks very much! Would be a new airline for me but having googled and got only a polar bear 737 I think I'll be okay to leave after the Corsair turns up.

Europe Airpost 734 eta 1510, etd 1600.

Think CWL will almost resemble an intertnational airport today with even more to come on Friday. I do love it when the French come to town!

What a day! Got everything I wanted and more in some sunlight! Could not ask for.more even if I did break my umbrella!! Pictures won't be up til Tuesday at the earliest as I'm away all weekend but log can be found at cardiffstathan.blogspot.com

Turned up this morning as I do every couple of years only to be told that entrance to the Flying club Cafe was £15 per person !! This might have included lunch but with two kids with me I wasn't paying £45 !!

Exploitation does not come Into it, the number of people they missed out on buying food must have been incredible as we watched person after person walk away in disgust, really hope their greed bites them firmly in the arse.

I see F-GSQT has returned this morning (Saturday) how much is it usually to go in the flying club cafe? Dave looking forward to seeing the log of what you saw.

Big old debate about the flying club going on...

I agree that with your two kids as well that's too much. As it happened I chose not to go up there as I like to get my photos from different places throughout the day. Up there yiu're pretty much limited to side-on on runway shots.

Twelve months ago they weren't letting "spotters" in at all... Nowadays on most days as log as you buy some dinner and shut the balcony door behind you they're okay! Common sense is what's required really. Common sense and decency, which they weren't gettig before as people brought their own packed lunches in!

The £15 included breakfast and lunch which would've set you back about that much anyway... Normally they're a lovely bunch and as long as you contribute to their livelihood they are very welcoming. Fair enough I reckon...

I know what Burnsey means if he had his kids with him it is a lot of money. But for me and a place to view for the day £15 is not bad. Especially with breakfast and lunch included. We pay £12 to park only at the AVP at Manchester and you get nothing in return except a parking speck.

Being a regular Manchester spotter I completely agree, the difference is that in Manchester a car of 5 people would still only be £12, for 5 of us (2 kids) at Cardiff was a stunning £75 !!! Throw into the mix that two of these had come along just as I am there dad its disgusting. What I didn't mention in the first post was that I had rang up on Wednesday to check the arrangements, I was told £3 per person payable on the day. When I arrived and was told £15 I brought up the £3 as advised and was told that the £3 was for entry into the café at night for the Rugby !! I also advised that my two children would not be taking photos and I would happily purchase food, the guy was not interested.

For me its just greed and another example of exploitation.

Agree with you re MCR great if there is five in the car- but expensive if it is you on your own. Unless of course you park up by the pub and walk down. Or go and park over the southside and stand on the mound over there.

As I said in my previous post I fully agree with you re the price - alright if you are on your own like me- but having to pay for yourself and your children with you is a bit over the top.

Like MCR people going on their own to the AVP are being exploited, just like you were at the aero club cafe at Cardiff.
