2013 looking a little brighter?

Post by DaveSheffield » Wed Oct 17, 2012 11:59 pm

It's been all go down here the last couple of weeks with a fair few new routes being announced!

Vueling will again be plugging the Baby sized gaps with three flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and a Barcelona on Friday and Sunday. This is an improvement on this years' schedule so something's going right there!

Lufthansa have announced a Dusseldorf flight next summer which is fantastic to see. Here's hoping there'll be Frankfurt routes soon, connections!!

Eastern appear to have shoehorned in an extra flight on a Thursday.

Monarch (Cosmos) are coming back next summer to do Florida again, with a bit more frequency (and, I read somewhere, 50% more capacity, but I assume these two to be the same thing?)

Prima Reisen are bringing a few coachloads of Austrians in at the start of next year. No idea what equipment they'll be using but it's nice to see - again, plans to expand if it goes well are being talked about!

Thomas Cook are taking off three routes but that doesn't do much to their fairly expansive list. They're also doing Florida flights next summer.

Lastly, the mysterious LowCostHolidays have also announced some flights to Palma next summer. Consensus on sites like the Wales Air Forum appears to be that these will be operated by Small Planet aircraft but if anyone can shed any light on that it'd be appreciated.

Aside from that there's the few odd charters to Madeira, Naples and Oporto again.

Any news is good news for Rhoose at the moment, and with Saints doing so well just down the road, and so many military bits using the airport recently (Italian C130s, yes thanks!) it all seems to be getting a little bit better. Little by little!
The name says Sheffield but I'm actually South Wales based now! Also often seen at Southend, Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham.
