Log: 8 April (and police advice)

Hi all;

A quick visit this morning;

Got stopped by one of the local police whilst I was there, he advised that driving around and stopping by the airside fences is not permitted, but he directed me to the nearby pay and display car park, which anyone is allowed to use. Just on the left as you drive in. It's only £1.00 for two hours, should be enough time for anyone, and they don't mind you walking about as long as you keep to the public areas. Be aware too that some of the private car parks Northside have camera cars now and it's £75 if you get caught. It also helps to be a member of Stansted Planewatch, which of course any self-respecting enthusiast should be.

Cheers Kw

thanks KW, the Stansted police are sometimes a bit more strict on stopping by the fences than others usually because somebody sensitive is arriving but they are usually friendly enough even if they do ask you to move on. The north side car park is very easy to find and very reasonable as you said, you can walk round everywhere that is accessible in about 1/2 hour or so even if you are stopping for photos.

here's info re the police planewatch scheme for anybody who wants to know more about it (I've been a member for many years now): http://www.civilianaviation.co.uk/forum ... 37&t=19132

and this shows the car park location: http://www.civilianaviation.co.uk/forum ... 37&t=19778
