Hi mate, Ingliston and the railway bridge at Turnhouse are best, you could also try Almond bank at the North side, you will see the aircraft touching down here, i presume by 'spotting' you are taking pics? The only problem with Almondbank is that your pics will be backlit if the sun is out.

Hope this is of help

Thanks for the reply chris :) Was more going along for some general obs rather than pics (need to get a new camera) Reckon I'll go for ingliston as it seems the easiest to access, as I don't drive. What can expect to see on a typical weekday? as in airframes & airlines

Hmm, on a weekday...

BA 767
United 757
Turkish 738/a319
Easyjet A319/A320
Ryanair B738
Flybe ERJ 170/190, Dash 8 and Saab 340
Lufthansa A319-321.
KLM B737-700-900/F70
Norwegian Express B738
Aer Lingus ATR 72
BA Cityflyer E190
Brussels airlines A319/A320
Thomson B752

That's all i can think of from the top of my head, there are likely to be a few others like SAS or BH Air.

Chris.
