blocking a follower on FlickR

Post by andygolfer » Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:13 am

following on from my post about interesting new followers yesterday http://www.civilianaviation.co.uk/forum ... 14&t=28856 I thought it was time to take a slightly more serious approach to the problem of porn spammers who suddenly seem to be following me (and others) on flickR. something that has only started to become a problem recently from what I can make out.

I've read up and now worked out how to block unwanted followers so here's a simple guide on how to do it....

firstly click on the person on your followers list that you want to stop following you (and in the case of a porn model page make sure the kids/grandkids aren't looking over your shoulder). On the bottom left of their header, click 'About' as below
(I've hidden the name to protect her modesty although judging by the photos her intentions were pretty much the opposite):

that will open the 'about' page as below. In the bottom right (sorry how the word bottom keeps popping up,it's not intended to describe the photos whatsoever) click on 'block user'

then this screen appears, tick the box to confirm that you want to block the person andt hen click 'Block'

you will then get a further chance to change your mind as this pop up appears (once again, no pun intended!). Assuming you are not having a last minute change of mind, click 'OK'

and that's all there is to it.

hope that helps

Andy,
That's quite strange as I too have had the same problem just lately and as you say it is pretty damn obvious when you go into their photos to see what they are really all about.
At least this gives me some peace of mind as I was beginning to wonder if I was the one looking at something I shouldn't. I must admit that since I have blocked 2 in about a month nothing else has occurred.

Ah. I'd like to have an argument, please. ... Receptionist: Well, It's one pound for a five minute argument, but only eight pounds for a course of ten.

I still haven't had any. :(

They've probably all looked at my profile, but when they saw this picture of me they decided I was just far too sexy for them - so they beat a hasty retreat...................................
