Hi, just found this forum so decided to join up. I live in Barrow Upon Soar some 10 miles or so from East Midlands, departing aircraft pass over my house when taking off to the east. I just saw an hour ago a 747 preparing to land, identified on Flightradar24 as AirBridge Cargo VP-BIK from Montreal. I happened to be in my back garden and got a great view as it came over, no camera to hand unfortunately! It was taking an unusual route to EMA.
I'm retired now but most of my working life was spent on aircraft engine design, particularly heat transfer and thermal systems.
Did you know that registration to Civilian Aviation is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Re: Hi from Barrow Upon Soar
I remember when the words Air Bridge, cargo and East Midlands meant a rather different 4 engine aircraft - one with four RR Tynes! I guess you probably do too, given that you say you are retired.dr_john wrote:I live in Barrow Upon Soar some 10 miles or so from East Midlands, departing aircraft pass over my house when taking off to the east.
