All the ex RAF Tristars stored here have now been re-registered in the US although I don't think they wear their Civil reg's yet

Hello,
http://www.aviationweek.com/blog/photos ... n-b747-400 seems to indicate that the Qatari A300-600F's and CX B747-400's have now been scrapped.
Are you able to confirm.

The Qatari A300Fs have all been scrapped or are in the process of being scrapped, can't confirm the status of the Cathay 747sMaltatripper wrote:Hello,

Putting it sensitively: parting out. Being blunt about it : scrapping

Re: Bruntingthorpe 2014
I e-mailed a friend who is doing the guppy restorarion to ask about the status of the other aircraft there but as yet have not had a response. He posted a pic on FB yesterday which showed a Transaero 747 and 3 Tristars in the background (they are due to go to the USA sometime soon). Once I hear anything will post it here

In the pic there's also another 747 with a white & green tail near the Transaero but cant recognise it due to lack of resolution

i've had a response to my e-mail, as of yesterday the 2 Cathay 747s (3 as of today) are still at least mainly intact. One of the Qatar A310s is still there but re all of those exact condition is unknown as the area is totally off limits even to the regular guys who work there on preserved aircraft.
also at least 4 of the ex RAF Tristars have been doing anti-det runs and their departure across the pond is fairly imminent.

If there is only 1 Qatari A300, then it seems to be A7-AFB
This is A7-ABX in May.

This is A7-ABY in March.

This is SX-OAD, the B747 with the green tail.

Hope this helps.

it's not the Asda / Olympic one , most of the green on that one's tail has gone now and it it almost back to Olympic c/scheme. This is mainly white with green markings on it but I cant sharpen the part of the pic enough to work out what it is. Here is a crop from the pic anyway:
I'm sure it's a 747 as the tail is same height as the Transaero, the Cathay ones have had black paint applied to cover the tail insignia

Re: Bruntingthorpe 2014
I have a pic, but can't acess photobucket...will post when I can
It looks like the pic has bleached the green to white and the blue is looking green
That way it matches the Olympic/Asda 747 which is parked just where this is...or appears to be and the area of blue showing through on this side matches the green here or so it seems with such a small pic
I took the pic on 20th July
Post when I can.
Also...none of the TriStars I could read off had their US registration applied. My guess is that it will only be for one flight...to the processors, like the RAF Dominies at Kemble.
