Day trip to Vienna
Re: Day trip to Vienna
Great view of apron busy with biz jets as well which all taxi by to their area.but no shelter, cafe or toilets. You have to go back into the terminal for those then back through a security check.3 euros if I remember lasts all day no matter how many times you go back and forewards.
There are car parks either end of the terminals if weather bad which gives a view of sorts.
Well worth a day visit as plenty therre we do not see our way plus quite a bit of biz traffic.
Did the day from Gatwick with easyjet which gives you plenty of time there.

Thanks for comment,it was a really good day out,do not do regs these days but plenty there to graph out of the ordinary as you could see.
There is a bus tour round the apron available from the airport web page but most biz can be seen from the long term car park walking the fence line with a couple of hangars on the other side of the car park and with a bit of effort from the top levels of the car parks at each end of the terminals if you miss things from the viewing deck.

Re: Day trip to Vienna
Thanks for these John, I've always wondered what the viewing deck is like.
Nice variety too, I like the Sky Prime A340-600 too, good catch! Nice set of biz jets too, and some Austrian heavies
You have made me have a look at doing this now I've actually found a flight from Stansted to Vienna on a Saturday for £50, or a weekend return (out Saturday, return Sunday) for £57 with Laudamotion, that would be very tempting! Out of interest how much was EasyJet for the day?

Re: Day trip to Vienna
looking at Easyjet mid week you can do for around £55 in October, did not look at weekend probably a lot dearer.
Just some info re the biz area.Outside the terminals get the free bus to the car park from bus stop 1,runs every half hour and the car park is between the biz park and hangar area.
You can walk from the terminal but looks a bit dodgy as some of the road has no pavement and has fast moving traffic which makes the bus the best bet.
