Afternoon all,
Took a trip down to LHR last Thursday to get a shot of the Oman Dreamy,turned out to be a lovely sunny day. Taken from the top level of the roadway on Terminal 5, not done there before and i was surprised to be the only person there all day, maybe everyone else was at myrtle for arrivals??!!
Anyway, a few pics;

Very nice set of photos - everything looks better in sunny blue skies. Sounds like a good spot on T5 for photos.

very nice Jon, far clearer than mine from further out - I realised it was hazy but amazed at the difference a mile makes!

Cracking set Jon!
Love the shot with the BA A320 and the A380 OTT, but love all the others, that Oman 787 looks very nice!
Brilliant catch with the MD-82 too!! Who was that operating for?

Thanks for the comments guys
The MD-82 was operating for SAS, nice throwback to a not so distant past!!!
Was a good location as you're set back from the traffic coming into the taxi rank/set down area and can see the planes rolling from the end of the runway so you've got good view of them approaching(especially compared to 09R departures etc). Also, was not bothered by security/police at all, and i believe its an "official" area?
The smaller stuff is a little high but most of the heavies are decent height as they pass, and if you had a large enough lense you could do the banking shots from there too!!!
At least it gives an option for departures, and as i went specifically for the Oman, was ideal!
Cheers
