Another sunny day was forecast, so went southside of 23L to capture some early departures.
G-VYGL A330 Air Tanker/Jet 2 departing just before 7am-still a bit of early mist and damp air about.

some great shots from the south side, I have not really done any civilian photography for ages and it is probably two years since i have been to Manchester, but your post inspired me to get up there again so a 4.30 am start last Friday and i was on the south side at 6.30am it was a bit overcast but it was still a pleasant morning out with the camera

Thanks Euan -Welcome to the forum.
Thanks "Mach One"-Yes , its not a bad spot photography wise - especially at 6am! (I've been away from any photography for years but got my first DSLR 18 months ago and the aviation bug bit me again!)mach one wrote: ↑Wed Aug 08, 2018 9:01 pmsome great shots from the south side, I have not really done any civilian photography for ages and it is probably two years since i have been to Manchester, but your post inspired me to get up there again so a 4.30 am start last Friday and i was on the south side at 6.30am it was a bit overcast but it was still a pleasant morning out with the camera

Cracking photos!
Still not been there, will get round to it, never seen a Sun Air Dornier yet! Love the Thomas Cook 330, looks better than the Hi-Fly one

Thanks James- Yes the south side of runway 2 is probably best spot early morning- the path being above the fence line is a bonus-uninterrupted view for most of the runway.james143611 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 13, 2018 7:44 pmCracking photos!
