A couple of hours Southside at Manchester

Post by burnsy133 » Fri May 25, 2018 3:39 pm

Don't spend nearly enough time at my local, which considering i work there is criminal, so Thursday i set the alarm for 5 am and headed down for a couple of hours before work to try and get some 05R landings whilst the weather was good.

That's a great set Rob, you should do it more often. :)

Both of the VS 747 shots are the pick of the bunch for me, I came back from Antigua in "Hot lips" in 2008 and the interior was looking a little jaded then, I hate to think what it looks like 10 years later (unless it's had a refurb since) ! (The breakfast on the way back consisted of a roll with scrambled egg in it (wrapped in tin foil) and a cup of tea/coffee).

Great set Rob, if could arrange for that weather and runway in use in about 6 weeks that would be great :D

A lovely set. Crisp and in great light, with the lowish sun illuminating the fan discs really well.

Very nice! Superb set there

All very sharp, love the Virgin lumps, TUI 787 and the Thomas Cook A330

Is that from the mound? Never been before but looking at going there for a weekend and maybe staying at the Airport Inn. Is the Visitors Centre viewing point much cop?

James,
These were shot from much further down 23L/05R, easy to show you where to go if you decided, but only good for 05R landings. Airport Inn is OK but shots only from 1700 onwards, the Viewing park is useless until 1700 hrs ish as you are shooting into the sun.

Let me know if you decide to venture up and i will arm you with locations.
