a few from my latest trip to Bologna, 16&19-03-2018
I had a long weekend visiting family in Italy from 16th to 19th March and flew from Stansted to Bologna and back. I managed a few from the aircraft and then a few from terminal of a damp dull airport as I waited to fly home, here's a few.....
a couple from Stansted as we waited to depart...
D-AIZT A.320 Eurowings Stansted 16-03-2018 8533 by Andrew Goldsmith, on Flickr
in that scheme it has to be EI-DCL
EI-DCL B.737 Ryanair Stansted 16-03-2018 8537 by Andrew Goldsmith, on Flickr
one of the ex EasyJet A.320s re-painted for Allegiant, first pic I've managed of one - better than nothing but only just
G-EZIM A.320 Allegiant Stansted 16-03-2018 8545 by Andrew Goldsmith, on Flickr
and one on arrival in BLQ - shame we weren't on the sunny side!
CN-NMI A.320 AirArabia Bologna 16-03-2018 8591 by Andrew Goldsmith, on Flickr
then departure evening at BLQ
EC-VZZ A.320 Veuling Bologna 19-03-2018 8898 by Andrew Goldsmith, on Flickr
EI-DTJ A.320 Alitalia Bologna 19-03-2018 8903 by Andrew Goldsmith, on Flickr

EI-FWB Su.100 CityJet Bologna 19-03-2018 8947 by Andrew Goldsmith, on Flickr
and Italy was nearly as cold as the UK!
thanks for looking
Andy

Shame about the weather Andy, some good stuff by the looks of it! Thanks for sharing these, I assume you had no trouble then, I keep reading about Italy airports and that the second you pull your camera out, security are on you like a tonne of bricks, I take it it's not that bad then!

these were from the terminal departure lounge but I've also spent an hour or so at the runway ends from time to time with no problems - several others taking pics there as well and some with tall ladders right next to the fence, didn't seem to be any problemsjames143611 wrote:Shame about the weather Andy, some good stuff by the looks of it! I've been corrected.... the Allegiant is G-EZIN and it's an A.319 not an A.320 , photo was just a snatch as we took off and quality through the plastic window was dire so that's my excuse on that front.
As for not knowing an A.319 from an A.320, I will have to look more closely at the windows next time (if there is another similar opportunity).

That's easy, a 320 is 3.4 metres longer than a 319 - take your tape measure next time !andygolfer wrote:I've been corrected.... the Allegiant is G-EZIN and it's an A.319 not an A.320 , photo was just a snatch as we took off and quality through the plastic window was dire so that's my excuse on that front.

G-EZIN has been re-registered as N319NV if anyone's interested.
Some nice shots there Andy.

I had to put the tape measure in the hold as it was too long for cabin baggage!Mike wrote:That's easy, a 320 is 3.4 metres longer than a 319 - take your tape measure next time !

Re: a few from my latest trip to Bologna, 16&19-03-2018
Doors is a better option! A319s have a main door fore and aft on each side, and one over-wing exit. A320s have a main door fore and aft, and two over-wing exits. A321s have four evenly spaced main doors and no over-wing exits.andygolfer wrote:As for not knowing an A.319 from an A.320, I will have to look more closely at the windows next time
Well, that was the case until recently. I've noticed some A319s now have two over-wing exits as part of certification for higher density seating - so this method isn't quite as foolproof as it used to be.

Yes I usually go by doors but that has 2 doors over the wing exit. Usually I think something is a 318 when actually it's a 319, same reason looking for that single middle door

I think Airbus should make it easy , call the 321 the 320L (long) 320 the 320M (medium) and the 319 the 320S (short). I suppose the 318 could be the 320FS as well
