The unbelievable sight of N158AC S-64F Skycrane just off the main A96 road 2-3 miles south of the village of Keith, it arrived from the US by boat into Montrose and is involved the the construction of a wind farm in the area

What an experience to be that close to a classic bird. Nice set.
Do you know how long it is in the country for?

excellent shots Donald.

Surely though, why construct a windfarm? just hook it's rotors to a generator and you have a ready made windfarm!

i'll fetch me coat!

What a beauty ! Thanks for sharing retro11.

Originally built as a Sikorsky CH-54B 'Tarhe', cn 64-081, for the US Army in 1969 sn 69-18473. Bought by Erickson Air-Crane in 1998 and converted to an Erickson-Sikorsky S-64F Skycrane. Since then it has been leased out in Malasia, Korea and Peru.

About another week, assuming the weather doesn't cause too many lost days (Ha!)

I hope Donald doesn't mind me hijacking his thread but here's one that was taken by Ian Adams on Friday morning. Only one lift was completed before the wind became too strong for the operation to continue, posted with Ian's permission. :thumb:

Hi,

Does anyone know for how much longer the skycrane helicopter will be working in the Keith/Dufftown area for?

Thanks
