Heathrow & Ex Ophelia - Mon 16th Oct

A few weeks ago the medium range forecast was looking good for a day of leave on the Monday but as the day neared news of Ex Hurricane Ophelia started to make the headlines. With the potential for a low cloud base and high winds in the west I decided to head east and it appeared Heathrow would be far enough with unbroken sunny skies forecast. The forecast was some way off and Heathrow was overcast with thin cloud and the unusaul orange glow from lunchtime onwards. I've adjusted the white balance on most of my pictures to compensate for the strange orange hue.

Nice you got a shot of the UA 747 too, they will be gone soon if they haven't already?

I like the shot of the Oman A330-200 too, only seen one of their -200's before

The last international flight will be 29/10/17 between Seoul & SFO whilst the last domestic flight is the 7/11/17 between SFO and Honolulu

The last LHR-SFO operated by a B744 is scheduled for the 27/10/17
