London Gatwick, 16 August 2016

Post by PorkScratching » Fri Aug 19, 2016 3:47 pm

I spent a few hours at Gatwick after dropping off family. The morning rush was over so I wasn't expecting too much, but there was still some variety and items of interest:

First time I've seen an Air Arabia aircraft, complete with rather nice livery:

Not too many 757s to be seen these days, so was rather pleased with this 300 series:

I've been after "the carrot" for a while now, so pleased to shoot it finally:

Talking of milestone jets, here's the 6000th 737 built:

SmartWings is a new airline for me, and their livery is rather, ahem, smart:

C&C welcome.

nice ones Nick, Gatwick still has some good variety there.

6000 B.737! I remember seeing my first one (Lufthansa) at Heathrow in 1969

Presumably a 100 series then? I never did get to see one of those. Plenty of 200s around when I started in the 1980s though.

Nick

a good set of pictures and judging by the angle they were taken from the side of Lowfield Heath Road. In which case maybe you were the Gent I said good afternoon to as I walked back to my car at 3:30?

Regards

Neil

Hi Neil, yes indeed shot from Lowfield Heath Road, I love it there. I left around 1500 though, so it wasn't me you met. I spent some time with a pleasant chap from Basingstoke, so it may have been him as he said he was planning to stay for a while when I left.
