Two weeks in Washington in the middle of June gave me the opportunity to make a couple of brief stops at Washington National Airport between activities. Fortunately the volume of traffic meant I got plenty of action in the time available. The shots were taken from Dangerfield Island and the famous Gravelly Point Park - one of Washington’s best attractions if you ask me. None of the traffic was particularly unusual but for a first time visitor to the States I was a kid in a sweetshop with every single movement a new one for me. Shooting in shirt sleeves and not a wooly hat & gloves was also kind of nice.

Re: Washington National in June.
Great memories of my trip to National in May/June 72, albeit with slightly different hardware!

Re: Washington National in June.
Now that I'd love to see pictures of... can't imagine how noisy it would be with full fat 727's, 737's & DC-9's.
Re: Washington National in June.
Great shots - the last time that I was there was October 1976, an incredibly busy, small airport with stacks of 727s, DC-9s, 737s, F-28s, BAC 1-11s, Eastern Electras, Piedmont YS-11s and stacks of biz-jets. 130 logged in less than 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon.
