Jakarta 11/07/18

Post by burnsy133 » Wed Jul 18, 2018 5:12 pm

A day trip to Jakarta saw the following shot, miserable weather, when the sun came out it was backlit, most of the viewing galleries have now shut down and the only one that is left is now behind perspex making shooting impossible. I opted to head for the FM7 Hotel and my request for the roof to be opened up for photography was granted at around 9.30 am, considering that this does not normally open until 5 pm i was delighted, most of the day was spent up there alone with maintenance staff my only company ! These are the best of a bad bunch but give a general idea of what is to be seen, no security problems were encountered .

Nice to see some pictures from that neck of the woods. Some real goodies there.

Rob some lovely variation and some good shots. Are you shooting raw? Even backlit you can pull out so much more with Lightroom or Photoshop camera raw. :thumb:

Hi Caravelle,

All taken in RAW and have shoved through Photoshop, before I did they were barely visible !!

Disappointing to get such varied interesting airlines and the light is against you. You have probably used dehaze, try adding some contrast and counteract Inthe basic panel take highlights down, white to the right past neutral and rack up the mid tones to the right. Counteracts the haze and introduces some extra punch. Btw no criticism, knowing what you are working with done well.

Lots of good stuff there and as much as I love colour and variation, you just can't beat a 747 - thing is, is a Lion Jumbo a Lumbo
