Hello all.
Spent a week in Koblenz and Frankfurt last week, flying on BMI from Bristol. Bonus was flying on two serials I haven't been on, and got a bonus type on the way back I've not been on before (ERJ-135).
Some time was spent on the viewing deck on the 17th, that was before getting the train to Koblenz. The main spotting at Frankfurt holiday was on the 20th - 23rd June. The hotel was the InterCity Hotel near to the viewing bridge, and had a brilliant room looking towards the airport. It was a stupidly hot week, so most of the time was spent in the morning until about 12:00-13:00 then coming back in the evening when it was a bit cooler, the mid-day bit was spent updating the spotting book and copping serials from the hotel.
Thursday's storm meant hiding near the hotel and missing out the shot of the Iraq Airways 320 in case of getting struck by lighting. I wasn't actually worried about the shot though, I was more interested in trying to see it so I could have the serial
Because I took so many photo's, it's going to take me some time to go through them, not only that but one post would have quite a lot of photo's, so I'm going to do 'theme' post's. This post will be shot's of the Cargo planes, the next one will be Special Scheme's and Alliances, then there will be other ones for heavies, 747 and 380's, Dreamliners etc etc.
There's not hundred's of cargo shot's, mostly because some took off on Runway 18, and on two day's, they were landing on Runway 07 and turning short.
C&C Welcome, hope you like them!
James.

good selection James and some quality pics (and subjects!)
shame about the storm though, I'd have been gutted missing a pic of the Iraqi A320 but probably a wise move to get otu of the storm.
thanks for posting them

Some lovely freight haulers there, particularly the Air China 777, and the Lufthansa Cargo 777 and MD-11.

Thank you!
One of those MD11's came in with such a screech that my right ear was hurting for a couple of days
Andy - Indeed the Iraqi is very unusual and is only on a twice weekly schedule, but the danger of electrocution sign at the bridge, probably because of all the metal and posts etc, I wasn't going to risk the shot!
