Bologna as the sun was setting 16-10-2016

Post by andygolfer » Mon Oct 17, 2016 5:17 pm

BLQ!!!.... ICAO code for Bologna Airport, yesterday evening it could also stand for Beautiful Light Quality or in the case of the people waiting to board our flight back to Stansted yesterday evening: Bl**dy Long Queue - why is it as soon as the aircraft touches down people start to queue and mainly those without priority boarding. I pay the extra few quid and just walk past when the open the gate, saves the stress of it all.

A beautiful sunny day yesterday in northern Italy, morning at the seaside then Bologna city for an hour or two before an hour or so of evening sun at the airport, nothing too exotic but some you don't always see in the UK, here are some of my pics taken from the departure hall by gate 22.......

I see what you mean about the ligth quality! Great shot of the Meridiana MD-80 taking off, and as I've said before, I love the Air Dolomiti livery.

Smashing shots - looks like a good photo spot - especially with that nice Italian sun :thumb:

thanks for the comments. It is quite good but you don't see them coming in very early so it can be a bit of a rush to catch them as they touch down.

It's through glass but at least it gets cleaned regularly unlike some places so isn't too much of a problem. The light was really nice this time but earlier in the day it can be very harsh particularly in the summer.

Very nice indeed, I can think of a lot worse places to go to for visits to family members.
