A current list for the new year, 30/12/14

Post by DaveSheffield » Tue Dec 30, 2014 12:14 am

Today's arrival was the phenomenal Southern Air B744F N400SA, not sure where it's parked as I'd already asked work if I could start late. You won't be able to miss it wherever it is though!

Landing 29/12/14 from Shannon resplendent in full original scheme (yes!) was Apollo Aviation (whoever they are) A320 N720AP (ex B-2400, of China Eastern, whose livery it's in).

Air India A330s VT-IWA and IWB are visible from the bridge. Both are well wrapped up and look to be here for the long term.

Also visible from the bridge in it's winter hide-out is N121TG, our friendly local oil spill response C130A.

The Fastjet keeps disappearing from view, I think solely because they move it around the airfield a bit. Still intact, still looks lovely, if you can see it.Image5H-FJB fastjet Airbus A319-112 - cn 1068 by djwilliams1990, on Flickr

Inside Twin Peaks I believe still present is Yakutia Cargo 75F VQ-BOX

All destined for scrap are the following;
There's a couple of aircraft in polar bear schemes, only one is outside currently, it could be G-CILC, formerly LN-BRE of SAS: ImageBoeing 734 LN-BRE by djwilliams1990, on Flickr

Or G-DOCD, formerly 2-VFRB, EC-LNC and, erm, G-DOCD when it was with BA.

LN-TUI, another former SAS 737, is close to Twin Peaks in base SAS colours.

G-CIHK is one of the former Firefly aircraft (9M-FZB) reregistered as a non-flyer to Aerotron of Surrey. Apparently this makes the parts, from a British registered aircraft, easier to sell on.

Round the back are the ex-GOL 737 PR-GIK, wingless but certainly still resplendent in colours.

Also chunks of A320 N859AC (ex VN-A308), VP-BEQ and various pieces of unidentifiable metal are all visible from the back road.

Somewhere hidden away is PR-MBI, or what used to be it. Interesting one this, I'll let the photos and article do the talking. Not my photo; https://www.flickr.com/photos/mw0tdq/15825563990 Not my article; http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articl ... 0s-407321/

An exhaustive list of smaller stuff is available courtesy of the excellent SWAG, note that this is flexible and not all on this list will be visible at any given time. Most won't.

And that's that. Do pop down. We're a friendly bunch in this part of the world, unless there's a NATO summit on... ;)
The name says Sheffield but I'm actually South Wales based now! Also often seen at Southend, Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham.
