flickr excruciatingly slow this morning

Is it just me or is Flickr excruciatingly slow this morning? I tried to upload an image to the Oct SPOTM thread and after 2 hours it still isn't showing, just the icon thing going round and round. I can''t see Mike's entry either - that's doing the same as is virtually every other pic on the forum.

My flickr page is also taking forever to load - unusable at present really.

Is it me or FlickR please?

don't know if it is or not - I can't sodding well see it!

on my laptop I've opened the topic from 2015 where I originally posted that balloon pic and only one is showing the rest are just the photo titles. I've clicked on one of them (on the laptop) and it looks like it's trying to open flickr but taking forever. I fear that my flickr account may have become corrupted in some way but there again, why cant I see other peoples' pics - odd and annoying

well after some assistance and patience from Mike I've just about solved it.

when I told him I had the same problem on my PC and laptop and he could see the images okay, he pointed out that it was probably my router playin up so I re-booted it and hey presst... The images are now visible.

One small problem remains on flickr, I can see the pics on the photostream but when I open albums the icons for the albums don't show BUT if I move the cursor about that detects which ever one it's over and a click opens it. Most odd - makes me think it might still be a bit slow.

Anyway it's many thanks to Mike for his help and brainwave

I'm glad that fixed it, I was about to suggest standing naked in the front garden on one leg and singing Monty Python's Spam song if you still had the problem.

and it's playing up again this morning

Still can't see the albums and now I can't open images to add comments or copy download codes etc. The notification bell and other bits seem to be disabled!

It seems relatively okay on my laptop so anybody know if there are settings which I could have inadvertently altered on my PC please?

frustrated of Essex (aka Andy)

and the mystery deepens - I log in to my PC as my wife (watch those comments please Mr. Branford) and then log in to Flickr and it all works perfectly well, all the bits that don't work when I log in on my own PC user account work when I use her log in, nothing wrong at all so must be a setting I've upset on my account on my PC rather than Flickr itself - ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH

DOCTOR! DOCTOR! MY BRAIN HURTS!

Well frustrated of Essex, it's similar up in the wilds of the Pennines, each time I try to post a photograph to Flickr I get:

An error has occurred replacing the image. Please try again.

A frustrating morning!

I've just uploaded a couple of photos to Flickr with no problems whatsoever, so it's definitely a profile issue you guys have.

Here's one of them.............

Yes Mike, just e-mailed you thanks. And I posted here but it didn't load, probably because you posted in the meantime and I didn't notice.

I did a 'delete browsing history' yesterday but the 'clear cache' option wasn’t ticked (nor was the delete passwords otherwise that would be a nightmare reloading them all) so the Cache was as before but now it’s empty it’s all tickety-boo – brilliant.

Just hope there was nothing important in the cache!

Thanks again Mike

and hope it works for Polehill too.

if you wish, I'm just relieved to have sorted it out. :thumb:
Was thinking of all sorts of nightmare options that I might have needed to sort it.

'mattress!'

And did those feet in ancient time, walk upon England's mountains green....

It's doing it (or not doing anything) again this morning - I've cleared the cache (as per last time) but it's nightmarishly slow and I cant get anything to load. Everything else seems okay so is it a flickr/yahoo problem or am I alone on this one?

Anybody got the same or even better a solution?

well it took ages to figure out but turned out my internet connection had slowed right up and all the photos made it noticeable on Flickr, after several hours of all sorts of test a reboot of the hub solved it. Next time I shall try the simple things first

Hi Mike, my photos are OK, but I've not uploaded any for weeks. I've got a sneaking suspicion that Flickr is going to go the same way as Photobucket did since they were taken over, though.

I really hope not, if they decide to charge for subscriptions then very few members will post photos and all forums will really suffer.

Fingers crossed that it's only a glitch, and that your shots will re-appear very soon. :)
