Southend Graveyard, VH-AMQ & VH-AHL plus an old DC6 pic

I haven't been back to the old airport for years but managed a half hour there the other day. It's still a scrapyard of hopeful old planes that are going to be sold on or leased but end up getting torched, sad old place really.

Superb. More please. You may be in teested in this thread; http://www.fightercontrol.co.uk/forum/v ... 7&p=128006" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The 748's are owned by a hotel I believe.

Thanks for the replies, glad you liked the picture. The owner of the two 748's, the Beech Baron wreck and the Skylark Hotel is Andreas Stavrinides and he says he intends to put one of the Avro's on display out the front this year (2012). He told me it will need a 100 ton crane to lift it so should any of this actually happen, I want to see it! I rather suspect the fuselage will just snap off like the old Delta DC6 that used to be there.

Speaking of the DC6, here's a photo of the poor old thing, taken about 1978.
