Flying cucumber

Post by LondonEye » Wed Dec 13, 2017 5:02 pm

Taken in November 1977 at Southend. Cessna 337 OY-AGU marked as OY-AGURK.

Apparently, the story is this-

Back in 1977 a popular phrase was "to go bananas" As they do not grow bananas in Denmark, apparently they used cucumbers (agurk) instead. Torkild Balslev was an airborne photographer and he added the "RK" to the registration. Obviously not popular with the Danish CAA, it only lasted a short time. Torkild Balslev was later killed in this aircraft in a take off accident on 11 January 1982.

Pete.
( I now await comments re - bananas - trousers - stuffing cucumbers ................)

I was a tad worried that people might be disappointed to see such a little 'un.
I hope it measures up to folks expectations.

Does anyone else call a Cessna 337 the Push me Pull Me ?

Pete.

Close but "Push-me-Pull-you".
Never been a big GA fan but always loved these!
Cheers
