Found these languishing in a folder from the Great Vintage Flying Weekend held at Abingdon in 2004. All taken with my first digital camera, a Fuji Finepix 4700.....

What a great set of pics in great weather conditions too! Reminds me of walking the lines at PFAs at Cranfield & Wroughton getting writer's cramp and trying to sort out the mis-writes afterwards with fellow spotters. Also carefully selecting which ones to photograph given the cost of film and developingin those days. Oh to go back with a digital camera and no need for notebook & pen!
Thanks for posting

Totally agree with you there, not to mention having to put all of the registrations in alphabetical order before writing them all in the proper log book. I used to enjoy a nice cold pint (or several) in the beer tent after each marathon walking the lines of aircraft.Nighthawke wrote:What a great set of pics in great weather conditions too! A great set of shots, I was getting worried that I wasn't going to see a Beagle Pup amongst them ( I have a "thing" with Pups ), but lo & behold one eventually appeared !

Nice to see. The G-VFWE events were great for seeing the rarer light aircraft. They were also held at Hullavington and Kemble.
Great for a few years, but I read that they stopped because too expensive for the organiser.
Thanks for posting.
Pete.
And just for Mike - at the same event -
