Famous Grouse Moth Rally ( Strathallan 1979 )
All scanned from 4.5" x 3.5" pre-digital photographs.
The quality is poor due to having been taken on a Kodak instamatic 110, as it was the only camera that would fit into a pocket, while marshalling the aircraft.

Re: Famous Grouse Moth Rally ( Strathallan 1979 )
they may only be from an instamatic but there's a super selection of aircraft there and for a 'basic' camera of that era they are really quite good
thanks for posting them

Jeez ! I'd totally forgotten about this, I was there that day too - I didn't have a camera with me but I have a full log if anyone's interested?

Re: Famous Grouse Moth Rally ( Strathallan 1979 )
An excellent post from yesteryear. I certainly recall seeing a report on it in Air Pictorial at the time.
Would be fascinated to see Mike's log for the day.

Below is a my list of provisional entrants, received two days before the event. I don't know how accurate this was over the event weekend.
There were also numerous additional air movements of light aircraft and a couple of helicopters, but I was too busy to note everything down.
Hopefully Mike can make corrections or additions.

Re: Famous Grouse Moth Rally ( Strathallan 1979 )
Love the BEA Dragon Rapide! A nice selection of foreign moths too. Oh, and interesting to see a Navy Lynx in the original blue colour scheme.
Re: Famous Grouse Moth Rally ( Strathallan 1979 )
Great weekend, happy memories. The Lynx was transporting the BBC crew making a documentary about the rally.
