With a slight return to the chill of a cold war with Russia, I thought that I would post some images of the Soviet Union's attendance at the Farnborough Airshow. The appearance of these aircraft, some quite rarely seen in the west, resulted in some noteworthy British test pilots being tasked with getting chummy with their Soviet counterparts, hopeful of getting useful intel. I've long lost my prints of the first appearance at Farnborough in 1984 of the Mil-26, AN-72 and IL-86, so these represent the glasnost and perestroika years.

Re: The Ruskies are coming!!
very nice Neil, I was there for the 225 in 1990, I was surprised how agile it was.
I also remember the grass shower I got when it landed, engines well beyond the runway and grass going everywhere - didn't do my hay fever much good!
thanks for the nostalgia
