Dusted off the Passport to travel in to Darkest Dorset for the Great Dorset Steam Festival, near Blandford Forum, on Friday 25 August.

First time I've been to the Fair for the best part of 20 years, and it was far better than I could remember from my last visit - no doubt the sunny weather helped, as the last time t'was rather muddy!!

It's not just Steam powered vehicles at the Fair; Classic Commercials, Farm Machinery and Heavy Horses also feature.

Here are a selection of pics - hope it isn't too many for you:

superb selection and agree that the convoy photos are impressive.

I love the engine with the crane on the front, especially with it's appropriately named owner!

thanks for posting them, i've not been to anything like that for many years so you've whetted my appetite

Love shot's 18 and 21, but shot 23 is :o check out the clag!

Looks like there was a fair amount of classic commercials too, love that ARC Frome AEC truck :D

Hi James

Thanks for the post - sorry not replying sooner

Yes, plenty of classic commercials there, not to mention lots of steam engines large and small!

That Frome truck looks immaculate - not too far from you - a bit further from me........................
