Many thanks!
The name says Sheffield but I'm actually South Wales based now! Also often seen at Southend, Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham.

not sure but it could well be an opsrey unless it's an oddly marked buzzard, if nobody knows can i copy it onto a bird forum where an expert will soon say which?

Thanks Andy, please do! Initially I thought it was a buzzard on account of it hovering on the wind. However the yellow beak and talons when I looked through the lens made me think otherwise. Then it landed and got in a staring contest with some sheep, I think I put those on my Flickr as well!

It's a hawk not an Osprey or a buzzard. It's hard to tell from the picture but my guess would be it's a Harris Hawk.

These are two shots of a Harris that I've taken over the years.
