I spent a day birding in suffolk on Tuesday, firstly at Bawdsey looking for firecrests (Britain's smallest bird) and soon found one and managed a couple of reasonable pics, here's one of it:

then after a hunt for short eared owls (which we saw but they were too far off for a reasonable photo) we spent the afternoon at RSPB Minsmere which culminated in a starling murmuration with about 40000 birds coming in to roost in the reed beds. They circled for about 1/2 hour gradually getting into a more and more compact flock before dropping into the reeds - quite a spectacular sight, here's 3 pics of them flocking together...
