SPOTM February 2018 - Single engined Piper aircraft

We run two monthly photo competitions on Civilian Aviation, firstly the Photo Of The Month (POTM) competition for photos taken in the current month and secondly the Specialist Photo Of The Month (SPOTM) which had a different topic for the subject every month. There are normally NO prizes and it is just a bit of fun to enable members to compare their photos against others with the membership voting for the winners. Why not join in and enter and if you don't want to enter you can still pick your 3 favourites in our polls

SPOTM February 2018 - Single engined Piper aircraft

Postby andygolfer » Mon Feb 05, 2018 8:31 pm

this is the SPOTM (Special Photo Of The Month) competition for February 2018 and the subject is ‘Single engined Piper aircraft'

The subject of your entry should be a photo of one or more civil registered single engined Piper aircraft

The aircraft subject(s) must be registered as a civilian operated aircraft (or retired as such) when the photograph was taken.

Photography Competition Rules :-

1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..

2. The photo may have been taken on any date, it does not have to be taken in the month of the competition

3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not. HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.

4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 (UK time) on the 1st March 2018, to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.

5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.

6. 'Rule 6...' There's no rule 6 Bruce'

7. The decision of the moderating team is final.

8. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.

9. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.

10. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.

11. Do not comment on other member's photos.

12. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too.

If you have any questions please PM me

Good luck everyone.

here's my entry taken at a fly in at Stow Maries in July 2016 - how many men does it take to park a Cherokee - 2 plus two women to help them. The one in green seemed to be doing the hard work but there's more of a story to this. The one on the wing tip was on her first flight and wasn’t pushing much! Note she has a bag in one hand which was full of puke – an unfortunate touch of airsickness! when they landed she was still the colour of the other lady's tee shirt! . It wasn’t a pukka sickbag so I didn’t ask for it to put in my collection (had it been worthwhile I’d happily have washed it out!).

as they say (and Rod Stewart once sang) - every picture tells a story!
