Photo Of The Year (POTY) competition 2014
Hi everybody, we have decided to run a Photo Of The Year (from now on referred to as POTY) competition for photos taken in 2014. for my sins I have volunteered to run the competition!
Here are the competition rules:
1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry.
2. The photograph must have been taken during 2014 .
3. Only entries already posted on the forum by midnight on 2nd January 2015 will qualify for the competition. Please ensure you include a link to the original post with your entry so that we can verify your compliance with this rule.
4. The photo can be of any subject you like, as long as there is some civilian aviation connection - shots of military aircraft at civilian airfields do not qualify though.
5. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not, (cutting and pasting the moon into the shot, for example). HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.
6. The competition will remain open until 23.59 on the 1st February 2015, you may change your entry up to the closing date but a revised entry must still comply with the competition rules.
7. Voting is open to all members in the 10 days following the closure of the competition, this will be done by a poll which will be set up when the competition closes. Moderators/Administrators/Sponsors will not be exempt from the competition but no-one can vote for their own entry.
8. Voting details will be announced once the competition has closed.
9. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules, size etc. , read them if you're not sure how to post etc.
10. Please also embed the images and not post a link to an image as it makes it harder to judge, if you're not sure how to do it, shout up and someone will sort it out.
11.Do not comment on other member's photos, any such posts will be removed.
12.The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.
13.The decision of the moderating team is final.
14. I have offered to donate a prize of a canvas (either 40 x 30cm or 60 x40cm) of the winning photo and all three winners will be posted in The Hall of Fame and "POTM winner" will be added to the winner's profile.
Good luck everybody and lets see lots of entries please.
Andrew

I'm going to go with this one of Hawker Hurricane Z5140 - G-HURI. This was taken at Duxford on the 14th September when there were no clouds in the sky, no excessive crowd, and there was some beautiful light...
