SPOTM April 2018 - Lear Jets

We run two monthly photo competitions on Civilian Aviation, firstly the Photo Of The Month (POTM) competition for photos taken in the current month and secondly the Specialist Photo Of The Month (SPOTM) which had a different topic for the subject every month. There are normally NO prizes and it is just a bit of fun to enable members to compare their photos against others with the membership voting for the winners. Why not join in and enter and if you don't want to enter you can still pick your 3 favourites in our polls

SPOTM April 2018 - Lear Jets

Post by andygolfer » Fri Apr 06, 2018 5:37 pm

this is the SPOTM (Special Photo Of The Month) competition for April 2018 and the subject is ‘Lear Jets'

The subject of your entry should be a photo of one or more civil registered aircraft from the Lear Jet series.

Photography Competition Rules :-

1. Only one entry per user, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, please state so on your entry..

2. The photo may have been taken on any date, it does not have to be taken in the month of the competition

3. The image can be photo-shopped to some extent, levels changes, cropping, sharpening etc. are all acceptable. The photograph must retain it’s initial subject though, don’t make it something it’s not. HDR images are not acceptable. If you are unsure, please PM a moderator.

4. The competition will remain open until 23.59 (UK time) on the 1st May 2018, to enable anyone with a last minute entry some breathing space.

5. Voting will be conducted by a poll open to all the membership shortly after the closure of the competition.

6. 'Rule 6...' There's no rule 6 Bruce'

7. The decision of the moderating team is final.

8. All images must be posted in line with the usual CA posting rules (size etc.), please read them if you're not sure how to post.

9. The rules may be subject to change, and these will be posted on this thread.

10. Please also embed the images and not links to images, if you're not sure how to do it then shout up and someone will sort it out. It is permissible to change your entry before the closing date.

11. Do not comment on other member's photos.

12. A brief description of where and when the image was taken would be nice too.

If you have any questions please PM me

Good luck everyone.
Andrew

I've gone for a big window classic - 1968 vintage Learjet 24 N333TW. Still in service with Ameristar as a cargo freighter, 40 years after its first flight. Addison Airport, North Dallas TX on 28 November 2008.

GFD Learjet 35A departing Fairford back in 2004. These perform a similar function to the Cobham Falcon 20s. Interestingly both aircraft types have wings derived from fighter designs, so can easily have underwing hard points fitted. These are of course used for target towing, electronic warfare training etc.

Similar theme to Nick, the Special Mission demonstrator at Farnborough in 1980, hence the reg N80SM.
