SPOTM Calendar for 2017

We run two monthly photo competitions on Civilian Aviation, firstly the Photo Of The Month (POTM) competition for photos taken in the current month and secondly the Specialist Photo Of The Month (SPOTM) which had a different topic for the subject every month. There are normally NO prizes and it is just a bit of fun to enable members to compare their photos against others with the membership voting for the winners. Why not join in and enter and if you don't want to enter you can still pick your 3 favourites in our polls

I will wait until after the weekend to see what other comments appear as I originally said - but no more mother in law jokes please Mr Branford!

OK, sorry. :)

EDIT by Andygolfer: and of course I scrolled to the bottom and what did I find? :o

I saw six men kicking and punching the mother-in-law.
My neighbour said "aren't you going to help?'"
I said "no, six should be enough."

thanks for all your comments and also the suggestions (Pete).

I will stick with the original idea of 4 legs as there are quite a good selection of aircraft AND will exclude the moths series as per the suggestions, The topic is now re-opened for entries so start going through those pics

thanks again to everyone who took the time to feedback

FRANCIS: Now, this is the palace in Caesar's Square. Our commando unit will approach from Fish Street, under cover of night, and make our way to the northwestern main drain. If questioned, we are sewage workers on our way to a conference. Reg, our glorious leader and founder of the P.F.J., will be coordinating consultant at the drain head, though he himself will not be taking part in any terrorist action, as he has a bad back.
BRIAN: Aren't you going to come with us? REG: Solidarity, brother. BRIAN: Oh, yes. Solidarity, Reg.
FRANCIS: Once in the sewer, timing will be of the essence. There is a Roman feast later in the evening, so we must move fast, and don't wear your best sandals. Turning left here, we enter the Caesar-Augustus memorial sewer and from there, proceed directly to the hypocaust.

I've actually started planning next year's calendar and discussed some ideas with the other mods over the weekend and with the sad demise of Monarch, Mike suggested that we make Monarch the subject of one of the next SPOTMs as a bit of a tribute so the programme is re-arranged so that October one will remain as 'Hot air balloons or other lighter than air craft' and then the November one will be Monarch Airlines.

The November comp's HS.125 series will now become December's subject and the December one (Touch down or lift off) will be the January 2018 subject.

I've done it in this order so that we do not have successive subjects which are primarily airliners. I try to make the subject more airliner orientated one month and then other types the following wherever possible.

Hope that makes sense.

I notice we already have a couple of posts re Monarch photos so that shows there are certainly some out there.
