Kemble November 2011
Today (04th) saw the arrival of Smartlynx A320 YL-LCB, sadly in all White livery.
Strangely, it arrived with engineers and after landing restarted its engine taxied to the Southside did an engine run. So maybe this one is going to escape.
I got an enthusiastic wave from the guy in the Right hand seat when it taxied back to D apron though.

Re: Kemble November 2011
Hi there,
I would think that the restart and run on the other side of the airfield was a maximum power assurance run on her engines before removal? this is standard practice if the engines are being sold on!
I have some colleagues up there removing the engines and APU yesterday and today off the Easy 737-700 "KD", another and our last 737 "KC" will be joining her next week at Kemble!!

Thanks Simon for the explaination of the engine run, as I've never known it happen before. I thought once the aircraft has arrived and the APU stops, that's it, it's no longer a living machine. I hope to see EZKC on her final landing.
Forgot to mention that M-YONE a Challenger also arrived and the Steerman N712? flew during my visit.

Today (7th) saw the arrival of the 3rd Blue1 RJ85 OH-SAO.
But only just, as it was very gloomy.

The 9th saw the arrival of RJ85 number 4, OH-SAJ.
Sadly, no decent picture of this one as the Brit pilot's getting good at his 08 landings. He managed to get it down and backtracked a lot quicker than Monday. Mind you, he could see the airfield today, which helped.

Think I need to get to Kemble for this 146s before they disappear or become British!

They appear to be parked to the side and rear of the Chevron hangar and not sure if they're visable from the AV8, as I received an e-mail from a person who while visiting, couldn't see them.ChrisGlobe wrote:Think I need to get to Kemble for this 146s before they disappear or become British!
I suggested that they may have been used by another Finland based airline and have disappeared into FINNAIR.
But I don't think he saw the joke.
They are there though.
Also today (12th) one of the F27's taxied to runway 08 and did an engine run, before being pushed back.

It was a White one and I'm not sure if it had a badge on the tail.Maltatripper wrote:What colour was the F27 please.
If you look at Firestar1's Kemble 12.11.11 post in the airliner and cargo photography section. In the picture of the 146 G-BZAT, you can just see it's bottom poking out between G-BZAZ and F27 HA-FAF.

Not witnessed by me and have had no confirmation from anyone yet, but according to various websites, G-EZKC the last easyjet B737 made her final move to Kemble this afternoon as EZY73BY.
Can anyone confirm with an actual sighting?

Re: Kemble November 2011
A quick visit today (23/11) found the 2 former Easyjet machines are parked outside the ASI hangar, along with F-GEXA, OO-TCR and LY-LCB.
New arrival D-AGEG was parked next to G-STRP between the Belfast (scrapping) pan and the ASI hangar.
The 4 former Blue 1 146s were all seen but require a bit of driving. They are behind/beside the Chevron hangar. Two are visible from AV8 or the service road past the Britannia. One is to the right of the hangar as viewed from AV8 (just behind other new arrival D-AVRM). The other is to the left of the hangar, parked nose on (near G-BZAY from memory). The other two are hidden right behind the Chevron hangar and can only be seen from the A433 heading towards Tetbury. Come away from AV8/Kemble and turn left on to the A433. After a short distance there are a couple of laybyes on the left, the other two 146s are visible from the second layby. Afraid I could read any registrations on the Blue 1 146s, so can't say which was where, but 4 could be seen.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Mark

Re: Kemble November 2011
25th
and just when you thought it was safe to stop counting Blue1 RJ85's, OH-SAL turns up. I think this was the one that got half way here and decided to go back, a few weeks ago.
Also noted was G-IASM a Beech 200 of TAG Aviation.
Yesterday (24th), saw the departure of one of the F27s, N19XE to Amsterdam. I believe this Fokker is for a museum?

Re: Kemble November 2011
An interesting article on the Chevron website about the destination and future role of the F-27.

Nice to see it going to a good home rather than ending its days with ASI.

Re: Kemble November 2011
I went yesterday and saw OH-SAO, SAJ and SAL plus one Blue 1 outside the hangar.
I see that all 5 are supposed to be at Kemble. I guess one is in the hangar.
Which hangar is the VFW614 in please, out of interest?

Re: Kemble November 2011
From memory I think the VFW614 is in the right most hangar when viewed from AV-8.
Your other Blue 1 146 may have been hidden behind the Chevron hangar, that's where they were when I last visited on 23/11.

Re: Kemble November 2011
Thanks Mark. I had a sneaky look behind the hangar but only saw 3 Blue1 146s plus a white 1. OH-SAL was the other side of the hangar visible from where the MK 747s are parked.
I don't need the other one but just wondered where it was.
Are the owners of the VFW614 amenable to requests to see it?
