Gatwick 30-10-2013 (a.m.)

Post by andygolfer » Thu Oct 31, 2013 9:10 am

I was at Gatwick very early yesterday to drop my daughter and family off for their return to Italy and hung about for the morning near the 26 approach from just as the sun was rising, the first half were taken at Church Lane ( where I was joined for a few minutes by a fox!) to get some almost head on shots……

Until yesterday I must have been the only aviation enthusiast in the UK not to have seen a Dreamliner, I shook off that tag at last as the first arrival (at 07.13) that I saw was Thomson’s G-TUIA, 2 pics of it:

Then I moved further south to Shipley Green to get the shots more side on….

high noon! - well high 09.44, aircraft in the background seemed to be order of the day for me and culminated in this one! ( how many did you spot in the previous photos?)

You have some cracking shots there Andy, a nice way to spend the morning. :)

So that leaves me as the only one yet to see a 787.

I am amazed that there is still somebody else waiting to see a 787! hope you see one soon. Thanks for the compliment re the pics, it certainly was a nice morning for photography. Just got to decide which to put in POTM now, there are 3 or 4 that I might use.

I couldn't believe how many times I managed to get other aircraft in the background! one I didnt include had an EZY airbus right on the top of the cockpit of the Carribean 767 but it wasn't as well focussed as the one of the 767 that I included. I could have had enough for a competition
