Re: spotted this flap open on a thomas cook whats it for ?

Pretty sure its the cabin pressurisation outflow valve. Basically air is pumped into the cabin and by controlling the outflow of this air the cabin is pressurised. The valve opens in response to the pressure in the cabin to maintain it. Hope i'm right and its not the toilet flap ;-) edit, just sent ...

The IL76 took off at 21-50 and departed over Trent.

Came over my house at 4500 ft making a lovely racket and under the clouds still.

flight number was VDA6906 on departure.

Re: Possible night shoot at East Midlands

callsign was RYAN, which was interesting as they called him RYANAIR by mistake for his clearances.

Re: Manchester tommorow

According to a local i was chatting with yesterday, the path had to be re-opened as it shouldn't of been closed in the first place.

Apparantly the car park goes accross council borders and the planning permission is dodgy.

F1 Cargo Flights

The F1 circus is due to fly out to Bahrain this week, the departures are i believe due for the 25th as thats the deadline for teams to get the stuff to the airport.

And of course nothing is guaranteed due to the current situation in Bahrain.

If anyone has any better info, please post.

Possible night shoot at East Midlands

Hi All. Following on from the recent interest in Night Shoot Photography, i have contacted East Midlands to see if we can get some access to do a night shoot. The reply i've had is that we cannot have any airside access due to security regulations etc, and we have to limit the numbers and supply nam...
